Position Overview
This position is for an Advanced Apprenticeship within the Autodesk Technology Centre based in Birmingham with a September 2024 start date.
Please note, this is a fixed-term contract position for the curation of 3 years so you can progress toward completing your level 3 apprenticeship and BTEC Diploma Technical Certificate.
During your apprenticeship at Autodesk you will be trained and mentored in areas of CNC machining and CNC programming. As you progress throughout your apprenticeship we will help you to identify your area of specialism and provide you with further in-depth mentoring to help you grow and achieve your career targets.
Also, as part of your training you will attend the MTC centre in Coventry where you will receive additional practical and theoretical training.
Responsibilities
Hands-On Experience: Work with manufacturing and software engineers within a dynamic, encouraging, and fulfilling setting. Your responsibilities would include testing software for any faults and providing feedback on how to improve new functionalities before their release to customers. Additionally, you may present new features or success stories at events or exhibitions
Technical Support: Offer technical assistance to develop solutions tailored to our customer's needs. This may involve collaborating with the sales team or engaging directly with customers to showcase and verify a manufacturing solution derived from your design or provided data. The scope could span multiple industries such as automotive, aerospace, or food, employing additive, subtractive, or hybrid strategies. Presentations of these solutions might occur either at the Birmingham Technology Centre or at customer sites, whether in the UK or abroad
Continuous Learning: Engage hands-on with the latest manufacturing hardware while honing your expertise through Autodesk software, paving your path to becoming a proficient manufacturing technician. You'll have access to a array of equipment, including robots, metal and powder 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC milling and turning machines, and hybrid machines can both additive and subtractive machining. Once adept, you'll share your knowledge and empower both customers and colleagues with manufacturing solutions
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to provide a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
Minimum Qualifications
5xGCSE's Grades 4 or Higher including Maths, English Language, and a STEM subject
Strong interest in pursuing a career in engineering
Basic understanding of engineering principles
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
