Position Overview

The AEC Generative Design Group is seeking a passionate and motivated software engineer to join our engineering team working on next generation design automation technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong programming background in both modern desktop and web development technologies and does not shy away from problems that have never been solved before.

In this position, you will play an important role in the definition and development of new technology that empowers our customers to automate their design process using Autodesk s products. You will use your knowledge and enthusiasm on projects covering all aspects of the software development process. You will join a Scrum team and actively contribute to the team s success by reviewing and assessing customer problems, architecting and implementing solutions and presenting the results. You will work within a passionate and talented group in Autodesk s new Boston office in the Seaport Innovation District, alongside more than 1000 developers across the company, in an environment that is both challenging and rewarding.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design, implementation, testing, and deployment of Generative Design and Dynamo software products (desktop, web, and mobile)

  • Apply core engineering principles to ensure quality, usability, and performance

  • Perform code and system analysis to identify and fix defects

  • Participate in agile development process, including daily scrum, sprint planning, code reviews, and quality assurance activities

  • Help to ensure our customers success by participating in customer visits and demonstrations, contributing to support forums and identifying issues and resolutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

  • At least 5-7 years experience in software development

  • Experience developing web or desktop applications

  • Comfortable developing in at least one web or desktop application framework

  • General development technologies: Git, Testing Frameworks (NUnit/JUnit)

  • Desktop technologies: C#, .NET/.NET Core, and WPF

  • Frontend technologies: JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS/HTML, and experience in at least one web framework (e.g. Backbone, React, Angular, Ember)

  • Backend technologies: NodeJS, C#/ASP.NET Core, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work as a member of a team

  • Show flexibility under changing conditions

  • User Interface Design

  • Experience with CAD applications

  • Experience with BIM workflows

  • Familiarity with computer graphics and/or computational geometry

  • Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Manufacturing domain experience
