Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a motivated and experienced software engineer to join our Manufacturing Industry Futures Team.

The Manufacturing Industry Futures Team is responsible for defining the company's future strategy in manufacturing technology, including Generative Design, Additive Manufacturing and Automation. A vital part of this strategy is to research new applications, workflows and processes to make better products and compress the end-to-end product lifecycle, which in turn reduces waste, reduces costs and time to market.

You'll be responsible for translating the unique workflows and processes, to build compelling software prototypes to demonstrate their effectiveness for potential adoption by the product development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, debug and document new and existing components to ensure that software meets technical specifications

  • Build good quality code by developing both unit and integration testing

  • Participate in code reviews to ensure new code conforms to latest standards

  • Collaborate with peer organizations, dev ops, support organizations on technical issues and provide guidance

  • Interpret and translate business needs to technical requirements

  • Research and drive adoption of new technologies

  • Work with team to troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently

  • Focus on scalability, security and availability of all applications and processes

  • Contribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable and maintainable software

  • Excellent technical problem solving skills and aptitude to learn new technologies and methodologies

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in computer science or related technical field

  • Over 5 years of professional experience developing software applications

  • Strong experience in object-oriented programming

  • Experience working in C and Python

  • Strong knowledge of AWS, databases, and cloud architectures

  • Strong experience and understanding of working on Agile processes like SCRUM

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
