Position Overview
The Digital Customer Experience (DXC) team's Customer Success domain is looking for a hands-on, experienced engineering manager to manage a team of experienced and driven engineers responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting Autodesk's next-generation knowledge platform. You will report into Senior Manager, Engineering. You will focus on leading an engineering team that develops and delivers reliable and scalable backend API services to support the frontend web experiences for our customers, and other consuming application providing new ways for them to interact with Autodesk. You will help lead the backend development of our platform, using Java, Node.js, Python, Docker and other web and DevOps technologies. We are looking for someone who understands complex requirements, back-office systems, and user experience flows, all while delivering a feature-rich platform to have direct impact on our customers.
Responsibilities
Manage and mentor the software engineering teams.
Work with architects, product owners, and experience designers towards a shared vision and contribute to product roadmaps and business strategies.
Collaborate with a geographically dispersed team and stakeholders.
Hire and grow top engineering talent.
Provide insight, feedback, and recommendations to senior management.
Automate processes and propose new tools and technologies when needed.
Lead planning, execution, and success of technical projects through Agile ceremonies.
Perform code reviews, evaluate implementations, and provide feedback for tool improvements.
Work with Autodesk's engineering teams to ensure applications and services are highly available and reliable.
Engage in technical and architectural discussions; collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, understand use cases, and build toward a cohesive technical strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
10+ years of relevant industry experience, 3+ years of hands-on technical leadership, and 3+ years of people management experience (must)
Understanding of developing large-scale, distributed microservices architecture and platforms
Experience working with remote teams and other cross-functional stakeholders
Experience with Scrum and Agile development processes and methodologies
Customer-facing and service-oriented person
Recent hands-on experience within one or more languages – Node.js, Java, Python/Go, React (must)
4+ years experience with back-end programming in Node.js, Java or Python
3+ years experience with React
Experience working with Javascript, React, Angular, or similar web frameworks is a plus
Experience designing, and building REST APIs, web services
Understand DevOps best practices, architectures, and methods
Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and writing build scripts
Experience with continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins
Experience with Amazon Web Services (i.e. EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, CloudFormation, and others) or similar cloud infrastructure
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (NewRelic, Splunk, ELK)
Understanding of PCI compliance and security best practices
Familiarity with responsive web design

You are interested in DevOps and the benefits of a strong CI/CD pipeline
You are comfortable with Agile and participating in sprint ceremonies

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $136,000 and $187,000. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
