Position Overview

Corporate Counsel, Litigation will provide global support in intellectual property disputes, commercial litigation, and regulatory investigations and inquiries. Working with outside counsel, our in-house legal team, and other business leaders throughout the company, you will help manage fact and expert discovery, law and motion practice, case strategy and trial preparation, and alternative dispute resolution.

You will also be a member of the Autodesk Legal Compliance team. You will work with many teams to ensure on-going compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies; and manage investigations into allegations of noncompliance. You will report to Autodesk's Director of Global Litigation. You will be in a hybrid role, so you will need to be within in a commutable distance to one of Autodesk's U.S. office including the Bay area, Portland, Denver, D.C, or Boston.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support all aspects of IP litigation, commercial disputes, and regulatory investigations

  • You will conduct early case assessment, developing dispute resolution strategies, and working with outside counsel to manage lawsuits arising from unresolved third-party disputes

  • Respond to legal process such as subpoenas, court orders, search warrants, and other legal and regulatory inquiries

  • You will help to develop and implement proactive policies to ensure compliance with global laws and regulations in different subject areas, including intellectual property, anti-corruption, competition, revenue-recognition, records retention, privacy, and data security

  • You will investigate allegations of noncompliance with Autodesk's Code of Business Conduct, and drive remedial and preventive action

  • Monitor updates to laws and regulations – and changes to Autodesk's products and business models – to ensure compliance with applicable requirements

  • You will work with a variety of team members, including legal colleagues, senior management, Human Resources, and Audit & Advisory Services, to implement and enhance Autodesk's Global Litigation and Legal Compliance Programs

Minimum Qualifications

  • You have at least four years of litigation experience

  • You have been overseeing or advising on e-discovery and records management

  • Broad knowledge of commercial disputes and experience setting case strategy, managing discovery process, and managing mediation/arbitration and trials

  • Have experience litigating a range of intellectual property issues including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets

  • Knowledge of privacy laws and experience litigating privacy issues

  • You have bar admission in good standing

  • You have experience in the software industry

  • You will travel occasionally

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $169,200 and $273,680. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
